Presentation
The Design and Management curricular unit aims to introduce students to the principles of strategic management as applied to Communication Design, promoting the integration of creativity, management, marketing and financial sustainability. Through methodologies for analysis, planning and project development, students acquire the skills to inform decisions, structure processes and create solutions aligned with organisational objectives and user needs. The module covers models of strategy, project management, marketing and financial management, providing an integrated view of the product and service development cycle. Within the context of the BA, this module acts as a bridge between the conceptual development of a project and its implementation in a professional context, preparing students to conceive, manage and implement design projects in multidisciplinary professional settings

Teaching methodologies
Teaching methodologies
This curriculum unit prioritises active, student-centred and problem-solving learning methodologies, utilising project-based learning (PBL). Teaching strategies include lecture-based and participatory classes, case studies, the progressive development of a project, collaborative work, presentations and formative feedback. The integration of methodologies relating to strategic analysis, management, marketing and financial planning facilitates the application of knowledge in contexts closely resembling professional practice, fostering critical thinking, autonomy and the ability to make informed decisions in Design Management projects.
