  • Objectives

    Objectives

The UC intends to initiate students to scientific research in Criminology, introducing them to the research process and to quantitative and qualitative methodologies, to be deepened in other UCs. It seeks to familiarize them with the scientific literature and other relevant resources, developing reading and comprehension skills in quantitative and qualitative studies. It is expected that students understand the logic and process of scientific research and know the central procedures for the application of empirical methodologies, namely the research designs, sampling strategies, and data collection methods used in Criminology; simultaneously, they must be trained in the analysis of studies, including its main components.

The methodology is innovative because it allows students to choose the case-study they intend to analyze and present to colleagues.
