Presentation
The Electrical Installations Design course unit aims to apply the fundamentals of circuit theory to electrical installations, while reviewing key concepts and analysing different design and sizing solutions. It also introduces students to electrical design methodologies and promotes the application of current national legislation and regulations. As this is the first course unit dedicated to electrical design, particular emphasis is placed on the most common low-voltage electrical installations. It thus marks the beginning of the study of electrical installation design, one of the fundamental activities of an electrical engineer.

Objectives
Objectives
By the end of the course unit, students should be able to: Understand the legal framework governing the licensing of electrical installations; Design and size low-voltage electrical installations; Prepare and structure electrical installation design documentation.
-
Teaching methodologies
Teaching methodologies
The course unit adopts a Project-Based Learning (PBL) approach, centred on the phased development of a real-world electrical installations project. This approach promotes the integration of theory and practice, autonomy, problem-solving and decision-making, with ongoing guidance throughout the semester.

Assessment
Assessment
