The curricular unit of Patternmaking and Manufacture Atelier II is a fundamental field for Fashion Design and Production. Within Fashion Design the fields of pattern making and manufacturing are essential, from the creation and development of sleeves and their details, the grading of pattern sizes, t-shirt development of patternmaking and manufacturing, the realization of base patterns of a jacket, to the idealization and development of the customization of a jacket, work of individual and practical character, throughout the semester.

Syllabus
1. Graduation of basic garment patterns. Practical exercise; 2. Construction of basic patterns through two-dimensional modeling: T-shirt and jacket; 3. Modeling and making of a T-shirt (prototype and final piece): Practical exercise. 4. Development of a jacket (prototype and final garment): flat pattern making and making a jacket with lining; 5. Notes and photographic record of the different processes, diagrams and descriptions, necessary and indispensable for the construction of clothing.

Objectives
1. Knowing and executing flat patternmaking and size grading: Knowing and relating patternmaking and manufacturing in the contemporary fashion industry (jacket typology) - processes, garment grading, sizes, measurement tables and wearability; 2. Developing, transforming patterns and making a knitted T-shirt complements the content of the course in partnership with the Fashion Design II course; 3. Knowing how to patternmaking and manufacturing a jacket and all its intrinsic characteristics (lining, pockets, trims, collars, types of fabric in a single garment, among others); 4. Develop photographic records and notes of the work carried out throughout the semester.

Teaching methodologies
Teaching methodologies
The course will be developed through theoretical-practical, expository, and demonstrative sessions, and practical work of an experimental nature will be developed during class sessions. Foster is also participatory and facilitates learning and the promotion of teacher/student interaction. The tutorial teaching will be fundamentally used in monitoring the project, carried out throughout the course unit.

Assessment
A avaliação em Atelier de Modelagem e Confeção II é contínua, privilegia o trabalho realizado pelos estudantes durante as horas de contacto (tempos de aula e acompanhamento), e a classificação final será obtida ponderando a classificação:
- Modelagem plana: graduação de peças de vestuário, construção base (t-shirt e bomber) 20%
- Modelagem plana e respetiva confeção de uma t-shirt em malha - 40%
- Modelagem plana, construção de detalhes e confeção de um jacket - 40%
-O estudante terá de consultar os respetivos enunciados dos trabalhos, disponíveis no Moodle, onde constam os parâmetros de avaliação e as datas de entrega de trabalhos mencionados à priori.
- Os trabalhos serão somente avaliados, se forem devidamente acompanhados em aula.
- A presente unidade curricular terá entregas intermédias semanalmente.
- Os trabalhos (vestuário) são entregues obrigatoriamente em porta-fatos cinzentos com cabides fortes e adequados a cada peça de vestuário, devidamente identificados com a folha disponível no Moodle, o professor reserva o direito de não avaliar o trabalho caso ele não esteja devidamente acondicionado conforme as orientações fornecidas.
- Obrigatoriedade de cumprimento de 75% das entregas intermédias, uma percentagem superior a 25% de entregas intermédias falhadas implica a exclusão da avaliação contínua.
- A entrega de trabalhos com atraso (que passe o prazo estabelecido) implica o desconto de dois valores na nota do referido trabalho.
- Não são aceites trabalhos com mais de 24H de atraso.
- Os estudantes com estatuto trabalhador: têm de cumprir os momentos de avaliação nas datas estipuladas e terão de coordenar com os docentes da disciplina as entregas intercalares, em caso de horário incompatível.
