The curricular unit of Patternmaking and Manufacture Atelier III is a fundamental field for Fashion Design and Production. Within Fashion Design the fields of pattern making and manufacturing are essential, from the creation and development of sleeves and its details, the grading of pattern sizes, clothing details, the realization of base patterns of a jacket, to the idealization and development of the customization of a jacket, work of individual and practical character, throughout the semester.

Syllabus
1. Introduction to the basic grading patterns for shirts, trousers, and other garments. Practical exercises;
2. patternmaking and manufacturing a T-shirt: an in-depth study of the construction of sleeves and armholes and their details. Practical exercises;
3. Developing a bomber/blouson jacket: flat pattern and making a bomber/ blouson jacket;
4. Notes and photographic records of the different processes and diagrams necessary and indispensable for garment construction.

Objectives
1. Know and perform flat size grading in patternmaking
2. Know and relate patternmaking and manufacturing in the contemporary fashion industry: processes, grading of garments
3. Development of flat patternmaking and creation of a t-shirt, complements the content of the curricular unit
4. Know and execute the patternmaking and manaufacturing of a jacket and all its intrinsic characteristics
5. Develop photographic records and notes of the work carried out throughout the semester.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
The course will be developed through theoretical-practical, expository, and demonstrative sessions and practical work of an experimental nature will be developed during class sessions. Foster is also participatory and facilitates learning and the promotion of teacher/student interaction.
The tutorial teaching will be fundamentally used in the monitoring of the project that will be carried out throughout the course unit.
