    In this Curricular Unit (UC) is firstly presented the scope of activity of a graduate in Engineering and industrial management and respective applications. The main scietific area of the UC is managegement aressing the basic concepts as management functions , Planning, Organization , Direction and Control among other subjects .Essential knowledge for any graduate in Engineering and most particullarly in Engineering and Industrial management  about  concepts of management and their application are transmitted to the student . Resolution of study cases are extensively used during the course. Additionally, basic knowledge of scientific methodoloy will be present students  in order to improve of quality of academic works.

    The student must acquire knowledge about the general concepts of Management and develop skils to be able to solve real simple case studies which adress all the differnt contents of the Curricular Unit.

    Teaching methodologies

    Active learning At classes, students are motivated to learn about specifics topics by investigating, thinking and discussing. Writting and discussion are valued.  Game-based learning will be also applied.

    Para a avaliação de trabalho em grupo em formato escrito, será considerado, obrigatoriamente,  a realização de prova oral tendo como objetivo a discussão presencial do trabalho em sala de aula, utilizando peso superior ao do trabalho escrito.

    O aluno obtém aprovação na avaliação contínua com nota igual ou superior a 9,5/20 valores. O aluno não pode obter aprovação na disciplina sem realizar o seminário.

    O exame de recurso e exame de época serão testes com datas definidas pela universidade.
