  • Objectives

    Objectives

This discipline allows the student to: LG1: be exposed to probability as a fundamental measure in science. LG2: understand statistics as a scientific area that enables engineering to collect data, analyze data, formulate hypotheses regarding that data, and test those hypotheses. In this sense, statistics and probability are essential to knowledge and engineering. LG3: be exposed to different business metrics.
  • Teaching methodologies

    Teaching methodologies

In the classes, the ideas underlying the curriculum of this course are discussed, and examples and application exercises are analyzed. For each topic in this course, a set of application exercises is presented. Students are encouraged to solve these exercises and to raise any doubts they may have. All supporting materials and relevant information will be shared with students through Moodle. Evaluation: Probability and Statistics Component Grade = 30% Test or Exam Grade (T1) + 40% Computational project (P) Business Metrics Component Grade = B Final Grade = 30% T1 + 40% P + 30% * B

    Assessment

    • Nota Final = 0,3 * T1 + 0,4 * P + 0,3 * B
