Objectives
It is intended to provide students with a wide and deep knowledge of the normative concepts, principles and institutes in Portuguese Civil Law in special the legal business. This knowledge will enable students not only to solve specific questions that are asked during the study of this discipline but also to know how to apply civil law in the resolution of concrete cases with a private legal nature in their future academic and professional career.

Assessment
Na avaliação contínua os alunos realizam 1 ou 2 testes escritos(60%).São, também, elementos de avaliação a participação nos eventos organizados pela faculdade, assiduidade, participação oral e qualidade da expressão escrita (40%).A não comparência a 70%das aulas teóricas e práticas é critério objetivo de exclusão do aluno da avaliação contínua, e impossibilita-o de realizar o teste ou,se for o caso,o segundo teste de avaliação contínua.Alunos com estatuto especial previsto em lei ou em regulamento que preveja a não obrigatoriedade de presença às aulas, querendo estar em avaliação contínua,devem informar o Professor da UC com 90 dias de antecedência ao término das aulas, para este definir outra forma de trabalho/acompanhamento, v.g., realização de trabalho escrito,apresentação de relatórios e/ouprova oral.
