  • Objectives

    Objectives

    By the end of the module, students should be able to: understand the fundamental principles of the Constitution of the Portuguese Republic and its role in the organisation of the State; identify and interpret the different sources of law and the hierarchical relationships between them; analyse the legal framework governing rights, freedoms and guarantees, as well as economic, social and cultural rights; distinguish the conditions, limits and effects of situations of constitutional exception; understand the mechanisms for reviewing constitutionality and enhanced legality; and apply the knowledge acquired to the critical and reasoned analysis of constitutional legal issues.
  • Teaching methodologies

    Teaching methodologies

    Teaching will take place onsite through seminar classes, emphasizing sutedents' participation in the reflection and problematizatio around the syllabus. A strong emphasis will also be given to a practical approach through exercises and critical analysis of court decisions.

    Em sede de avaliação contínua, os estudantes que compareçam a pelo menos 70% das aulas ministradas e que tenham realizado os dois momentos de avaliação, independentemente da classificação que obtiverem, estão admitidos à prova global a decorrer durante o mês de Janeiro, antes da época de Recurso.
    Os estudamtes que não compareçam a pelo menos 70% das aulas ministradas reprovam, nos termos do artigo 3.º, al. a) do Regulamento de Avaliação da FDCP e, por isso, não são admitidos na prova global.
    Todos os testes escritos são elementos de avaliação obrigatórios, sendo que a não comparência a um dos elementos de avaliação determina a reprovação do estudante, nos termos do artigo 3.º, al. b) do Regulamento de Avaliação da FDCP.
