Applied Informatics is a curricular unit of theoretical and practical nature that is based as a complement of productivity with technological base for the future professional of Physical Education and Sport. Its applied nature allows the student to perform technical tasks with scientific support. The teaching-learning process of this curricular unit is based on 3 fundamental aspects through the use of digital applications: the support to the data collection technique and its treatment, the transformation of information and its dissemination and the scientifically adequate support for the latter. This UC provides means and knowledge for a better productivity and scientificity of the future professional in Physical Education and Sport.

Copilot: use of AI to support writing, data synthesis, presentation creation, and task automation in Microsoft 365. Online Research: preparation of bibliographic references, online databases for bibliographic research, bibliographic search engines on the Internet, document organization, reference management, structure of scientific articles. MS Word: paragraph and page formatting, page and section breaks, headers, footers, pagination, styles, automatic tables of contents, captions, lists of tables and figures, track changes and comments, insertion of objects. MS Forms: creation and analysis of online forms and surveys. MS Excel: cell formatting, automatic sequences, formulas, charts, tables, conditional formatting, sorting and filters, pivot tables and charts. MS PowerPoint: background, design and object formatting, text insertion and formatting, insertion of images and tables, animation, templates.

Objectives
Enable the student to master productivity software and properly use the information and communication technologies, as a tool to aid reflection, planning, evaluation of their practices and personal and professional development, by: reading, writing, editing, and layout of scientific documents; online research and selection of scientific documents; use of data tables, formulas, and creation of charts in spreadsheets; critical and ethical use of artificial intelligence tools to support research, writing, and information analysis; preparation of effective and well-founded oral presentations, supported by audiovisual media.

Teaching methodologies
Teaching methodologies
During classes, with the support of the teachers, students will be able to apply the knowledge acquired by: performing exercises and verifying their accuracy; and applying these skills in assignments from other curricular units. During autonomous study hours, students have access on Moodle to: all course materials organized sequentially (self-paced mode); and access to Philix, the virtual Artificial Intelligence assistant.

A data da prova será apresentada, pela Direção do Curso, via Moodle. 40% Trabalho de grupo A data das submissões e apresentações será anunciada na 1ª aula. 60% A classificação final da avaliação é calculada pela média (igual ou superior a 9.5 valores para aprovação) ponderada de cada uma das componentes.
NOTA: caso uma das provas tenha uma classificação inferior a 9.5 valores e a média final seja igual ou superior a 9.5 valores, é realizada uma 2ª chamada (prova de recuperação).
