Option III (Swimming) presents itself as a summary of the knowledge acquired in previous years, deepening the subjects of Pedagogy and Didactics of Swimming associated with Adaptation to the Aquatic Environment (AMA) and the Teaching of Swimming Techniques (respective matches and turns). On the other hand, it will address new topics of the training process in Pure Swimming, aimed at the junior and senior levels, following the Long Term Swimmer Preparation Model, presented in the previous academic years.

a) Training load and training adaptation. Sports training principles, load components, training effects. b) Development of physical qualities applied to swimming: Resistance, Strength, Speed, Flexibility and Coordination. c) Observation and analysis of training and competition d) Sports Training Levels - Youth and Adult Performance and Sports Competition. e) Planning and Periodization of Training: Long-Term Preparation Models; Macro, Meso and Micro Structure. Periodization Models. f) Evaluation and control of the training process: ways and means.

Objectives
The main objective of the CU is to promote the acquisition of knowledge and skills necessary for the intervention of the teacher / coach, within the scope of the training and competition process, in the different stages of training the athlete or student or practitioner. 1. To master and relate the contents of training theory, relating them to the specifics of each branch and / or sport, at the historical, technical-tactical and organizational levels. 2. Use terminology and information and communication techniques appropriate to different situations. 3. Cooperate in the elaboration, development and evaluation of the sports project of the institutions. 4. Prescribe training programs, depending on the specialties, organizing and managing the entire training and competition process for junior and senior swimmers. 5. Know, select and apply training assessment and control methodologies suitable for each stage of the training process and/or competition

Teaching methodologies
Teaching methodologies
The teaching-learning process takes place using classes: Theoretical – information and discussion of themes. Theoretical-practical – debate of themes Fieldwork – Monitoring of absolute swimmers training sessions and performance evaluations, with activity reports. Teaching materials are made available and a relationship with students is established using Moodle. There will also be availability of the teacher to clarify matters in extra teaching sessions. Continuous evaluation: A Frequency (40%) Individual presentation of a theme (30%) Tasks – with discussion (includes a critical review and presentation of selected content concerning the Fundamental syllabus) (40%). Exam: Written exam Delivery of a dossier with materials defined in the continuous evaluation tinua. The oral exam will start with the presentation and discussion of a theme defined on the day of the written test by the teachers.
