The CU of option III-Basketball seeks to develop the individual fundamentals (offensive and defensive) and the collective principles (offensive and defensive) of the basketball game. The knowledge, skills and aptitudes in this UC provide bases for the coach's intervention at the level of basketball teaching at the lowest levels of practice in the Federated Sports System (initiation and sports orientation).

Objectives
Objectives
Basketball Option III aim to enable students to: know the rules of the game; identify the characteristics of the early stages of the game; identify the relationship between the different phases of the game; analyze the implementation of technical and tactical behaviors gestures in game in their initial and intermediate levels of basketball practice; recognize the game as primary means to use in teaching, defining the strategies depending on the quality of practitioners; perform basic technical gestures and the methodology of teaching in the Intermediate stages of basketball practice; master the teaching methods of the game; present practical examples in the field of preparation on the training components in team context; understand the importance of the link to the basketball community; realize the necessity of observing the most advanced models of competition and reflect on practices and the concept of game.

Teaching methodologies
Use of an active methodology in the teaching process, placing the student at the center of the learning process through tasks that encourage the student to independently seek new knowledge on presented topics. Use of practical tasks in TP classes that place the student as an active learning agent, stimulating the debate of ideas and collaborative learning. The theoretical-practical classes also include the use of videos and images on the program contents that aim to integrate theoretical knowledge and a greater relationship with practical and professional reality. Use of the b-learning system, with the help of the Moodle platform, to make teaching material (slides) and scientific and opinion articles available to all students.

Assessment
A UC poderá ser realizada em avaliação continua ou em exame de recurso. A avaliação terá uma componente teórica (prova escrita) e uma componente prática (apresentação de trabalhos práticos ao longo do semestre). A classificação final da avaliação é calculada pela média ponderada de cada momento, que estão descritos nos Instrumentos e Parâmetros de Avaliação.
A média final terá de ser igual ou superior a 9.5 valores. Cada momento de avaliação terá de ter classificação superior a 9.5 valores para ser estar em avaliação contínua. Os alunos que obtenham classificações inferiores a 9.5 valores em partes de matéria e/ou momentos de avaliação, deverão realizar uma prova suplementar de avaliação, sempre que a média das classificações parcelares for igual ou superior a 9.5 valores.
Avaliação Contínua (requer 70% das presenças nas horas de contato).
O processo de avaliação contínua constará, para além da frequência, de:
- Avaliação dos níveis de execução/participação, os quais se referem às capacidades técnico-táticas e conhecimento global do jogo, atitude crítica e reflexiva face aos diferentes conteúdos da matéria, capacidade de cooperação com o professor e colega, assiduidade e pontualidade;
- Organização de um dossier sobre “a Filosofia do treinador” e “Relatório de Scouting”.

- Prova teórica escrita
- Prova oral (se prova escrita classificação de 9.5 valores)
- Apresentação e discussão de um trabalho individual (média aritmética da oral com a teórica escrita seja igual ou superior a 9.5 valores) sobre um tema lecionado: Documento escrito em Word; Documento de apresentação
- Apresentação e discussão de um plano de uma atividade de divulgação da modalidade de basquetebol
- Prova prática: capacidade de discussão e argumentação prática sobre um conteúdo programático
O estudante terá de ter pelos menos 9.5 valores em cada parâmetro para poder ser considerado o cálculo da média final do Exame.
