  • Objectives

    Objectives

The present CU aims to: 1) Recognize the fundamental components of the Motor Development process, as well as the study methods applied to this area of ¿¿knowledge. 2) Identify and recognize the stages of development of motor actions, physical abilities and perceptual-motor development throughout life. 3) Recognize motor development as a result of the interaction between genetics and the environment, the product of this interaction being the main determinant of motor competence and physical literacy. 4) Identify and select motor assessment instruments appropriate to the objectives of the evaluation and the evaluated ones. 5) Recognize the protocols and particularities of anthropometric methods. 6) Identify the methods of assessing body composition, the strengths and weaknesses of each method. 7) Recognize the importance of the study of body proportionality within and between individuals and the change in their indicators throughout the growth process.

  • Teaching methodologies and assessment

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

Different teaching methodologies (TMs) will be used: Expository lectures (TM1), Resolution of practical cases (TM2), Viewing and discussion of documentaries/videos (TM3), Bibliographic research (TM4), Analysis of scientific articles (TM5), Small group activities (TM6), Feedback provided by the professor on the work performed (TM7).

The assessment is ongoing and is carried out in accordance with the General Assessment Regulations of the Universidade Lusófona. The final grade is determined by rounding to the nearest whole number the value of the simple arithmetic average of the grades obtained in the 3 assessment moments:

    • 3 assessment moments (2 written exams (40% each) + 1 practical assignment (20%) carried out during the course.

The final grade must be ≥ 9.5 points.

Students who do not pass will be able to take an exam during the appeal period. The appeal exam (written test and oral test) will cover all CPs.
