It provides essential foundational and transversal skills for professional performance, with areas of focus and domains of intervention in knowledge, description, interpretation, application, and execution within the educational system, in the subject of Gymnastics.

CC1: Basics and Fundamentals of Gymnastics: less complex gymnastic elements across different gymnastics disciplines (Artistic, Rhythmic, Trampoline, Acrobatic, Aerobic); CC2: Regulatory framework; teaching philosophy and foundations of gymnastics; Basic Gymnastics Concepts and Gymnastic Movement Patterns; CC3: Structure of a gymnastics training session/class for school-aged children and young people: warm-up, methodological progressions of teaching and physical training capacities, music and choreography, teacher’s intervention methods, ability to recognise and correct technical errors, and safety in practice.

Objectives
Objectives
To know, interpret, and correctly apply: LO1: scientific, pedagogical, and didactic knowledge in basic gymnastics activities, with an emphasis on rules, judging, basic concepts, gymnastics apparatus, and specific terminology in competitive and non-competitive areas; LO2 the teacher’s forms of intervention in designing and delivering a gymnastics session/class for school-aged children and young people, using different levels of planning.LO3: To exercise basic gymnastics practice without common errors, including basic balances, rotations, gymnastic jumps, group technical elements, and exercises intending to adapt to gymnastics apparatus (fixed, movable, and portable).LO4: To acquire and apply knowledge related to methodological progressions, including general and specific physical preparation, music, and choreography, necessary for the correct execution of gymnastic elements addressed in the teaching of the unit.

Different teaching methodologies (TM) will be used: • Demonstration, experimentation, and practical exercises (TM1) • Pedagogical practices in simulated teaching/learning planning, organisation, and intervention (TM2) • Solving practical cases (TM3) • Viewing and discussing documentaries/videos (TM4) • Small group activities (TM5) • Feedback provided by the lecturer on developed work (TM6)

Assessment
Assessment
A avaliação é contínua e é levada a cabo nos termos do RG de Avaliação da UL (Porto). A classificação final é determinada pela média aritmética ponderada das classificações obtidas nos momentos de avaliação: 4 momentos de avaliação da prática pedagógica em contexto real e contexto simulado-sessão aula - 15% cada e escrita global do semestre - 4 0 %. independentemente da avaliação em cada momento, é obrigatória a realização dos 4 momentos de avaliação prática + a avaliação teórica. A não realização de um destes momentos obrigatórios de avaliação, implica a não aprovação na disciplina.
Para aprovação o aluno terá que ter no mínimo 9,5 valores. Os estudantes que não obtenham aprovação poderão submeter-se a exame na época de recurso. O exame de recurso incidirá sobre a totalidade dos CP.
