The course unit Writing and Reading in Digital Environments explores contemporary practices of text production, circulation and interpretation in digital contexts. As part of the BA in Portuguese Studies, this unit encourages critical reflection on modes of communication and knowledge construction in the digital age, combining skills in reading, writing and media literacy. Through an interdisciplinary approach, students analyse different digital genres and platforms, developing writing strategies suited to academic, professional and cultural contexts. The unit also addresses issues related to multimodality, communication ethics, access to information and participation in digital environments. It therefore contributes to a broader understanding of language as a tool for communication, creativity and cultural transmission in the contemporary world.
