    The Environmental Psychology course aims to sensitize students to the reciprocal influence between the environment and human behavior and provide knowledge that enables the understanding of the relationship between environmental contexts and human behavior by allowing students to apply this knowledge in addressing different types of environment.

    Objectives

    The specific learning UC objectives are: OA1: Understand and describe the relevance of global, urban and natural environmental context for understanding human behaviour and the human dimension of environmental sustainability; OA2: Understand, describe and relate the main concepts and processes involved in the relationship between environments and behaviour (eg environmental attitudes, sustainable behaviour, local identity, sense of community, relatedness to nature); OA3: Analyze and differentiate some issues related to human behaviour in specific environments (e.g. schools, work spaces, hospitals).

    Teaching methodologies

    Teaching methodology of the CU includes the contents presentation (TM1) complemented in an integrated way by case analysis on specific contents aspects, either through videos (TM2), articles and reports (TM3), or activities in real context (TM4). In addition, tutorial activities are planned for student evaluation work (TM5).

    Assessment

    A avaliação contínua consiste em: a) um trabalho individual de análise e reflexão crítica sobre um contexto/problema a partir da psicologia ambiental realizado em aula (60%); b) um trabalho de grupo, com apresentação oral, a definir em norma específica (30%grupo + 10% individual). A presença nas aulas práticas é obrigatória. A época de recurso consiste num exame escrito com ponderação de 100% na nota final, que incidirá sobre a totalidade dos conteúdos teóricos e práticos.

     

    Continuous evaluation consists of: a) an individual work of analysis and critical reflection on a context/problem based on environmental psychology performed in class (60%); b) a group work, with oral presentation, to be defined in a specific norm (40%group + 10% individual). Presence in practical classes is mandatory. The final evaluation includes a written exam (100%) on the total contents of the program.
