Class Tourism Indicators for Investment Management

  • Presentation

    Presentation

This curricular unit focuses on the use of tourism indicators as tools to support analysis, monitoring and decision-making in tourism investment contexts. Through the interpretation of data, performance metrics and tourism trends, students develop competencies in analysis, evaluation and the formulation of recommendations for tourism organisations and destinations. The course adopts active learning methodologies, including case studies, Problem-Based Learning (PBL), collaborative work and project development. Throughout the semester, students apply tourism indicators to the analysis of real-world challenges, exploring economic, social and environmental dimensions associated with investment and sustainability. The integration of quantitative analysis, critical thinking and practical application prepares students for professional environments where evidence-based decision-making is essential.

Students work in teams to analyse a tourism destination, organisation or project, using indicators to support diagnoses and recommendations. Activities include the exploration of national and international statistical sources, interpretation of industry reports, use of digital tools and the critical use of artificial intelligence as a support tool for research and analysis. Intermediate presentations promote continuous feedback, peer learning, critical reflection and the development of communication, argumentation and evidence-based decision-making skills.

    • Teste (25%)
