    he subject of the Course - Architecture, Territoriality and Citizenship - is part of the general theme of the 2nd cycle. Perception and communication in / of the Urban space. This theme is part of the research lines of LEAU (Experimental Laboratory of Architecture and Urbanism). The main theme of the year (which includes Architecture III and IV) will be the interoperation of urban space and the proposition of a program that qualifies it, giving it a unique sense and character.
    Architecture III will focus on a project program that is the consequence of a research of the place under analysis and of a program suggested by the student. architecture as an activity, which through the project, transforms the place. The statement of the exercise is considered the basis of the work to be developed throughout the semester.

    Objectives

    Students must demonstrate: - ability to recognize design procedures - referencing; discrimination; sizing; pertinence - and its results; - research skills both for the preparation of the project (inquiry), and in the design process itself; - skills for the creation of cognitive and heuristic methodologies capable of adapting to the specificity and contingency of particular projects; - ability to master the various phases of the project's implementation, from the sketch to the construction detail, passing through the phases considered necessary for critical understanding and parallelism with more generalizable socio-economic and cultural situations; - ability to communicate not only the technical and material aspects but also the conceptual aspects of the project; - ability to integrate technical, environmental and structural infrastructures.

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

    It is intended that the student learns the proposed contents through a Learning by Doing process, enhancing their ability to investigate in Architecture.
