Masters Applied Biochemistry

The master's degree in Applied Biochemistry aims to train professionals with advanced disciplinary skills in the field of biochemistry. With a practical and multidisciplinary approach, it is geared towards innovation, research and development in industries and laboratories. Students will have the opportunity to explore various areas, such as molecular diagnostics in health, the production and manipulation of proteins for industrial and diagnostic purposes, biosensors, biochemistry aimed at sustainability and the environment, as well as receiving training in chemistry applied to the validation of analytical methods and organic/inorganic chemistry with an emphasis on health.

The following are eligible to apply a) Holders of a Bachelor's degree or legal equivalent awarded by a national higher education institution in the areas of Biochemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedicine or related areas; b) Holders of a foreign higher academic degree, or legal equivalent, awarded following a 1st cycle of studies organized in accordance with the principles of the Bologna Process by a State adhering to this Process, in the areas of Biochemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedicine and related areas; c) Holders of a foreign higher academic degree, which is recognized by the Scientific Council as meeting the objectives of the Bachelor's degree in the areas of Biochemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedicine or in related areas; d) Holders of an academic, scientific or professional curriculum recognized by the Scientific Council as attesting to their ability to complete this cycle of studies.

Holders of a Bachelor's degree or legal equivalent in the fields of Biochemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedicine, Pharmacy or related areas are eligible to apply.

- Indústria Farmacêutica, Alimentar e Biotecnológica; - Diagnóstico Clínico realizando testes laboratoriais para deteção de doenças, e desenvolvimento de novas técnicas de diagnóstico; - Investigação e Desenvolvimento em Universidades-Possibilidade de ingressar num terceiro ciclo (doutoramento), numa Universidade ou em associação com a Indústria; - Indústria Ambiental: Desenvolver métodos de monitorização e remediação ambiental, avaliar a toxicidade de substâncias ou desenvolver processos de biodegradação de resíduos; - Consultoria Científica.
