    Syllabus

    Evolution and specialisation of research methods. Scientific sources and their evaluation. Scientific method in natural sciences: description; control and understanding. Controllable versus uncontrollable phenomenon: limitations of experimental methods in the face of real-world complexity. Non-experimental methods: correlation; naturalistic observation; surveys; case studies. Types of research: descriptive; analytical; predictive; experimental. Research design: problem-solving approach; research questions and hypotheses; choice of research methods. Research process: organization of process; progress monitoring and control. Scientific communication: write, review, communicate.
  • Objectives

    Objectives

    The main goal is to give the student the opportunity to define and initiate the procedures for the elaboration of a Dissertation plan. The determinant aspects for structuring a Dissertation are addressed and the students are asked to define their Dissertation plan, which will have to be defended in public.

    Teaching methodologies

    It also includes innovative methodologies to support the teaching-learning process, namely the use of scientific research systems and automatic referencing.
