    This course unit includes the following programmatic contents (PCs): PC1 [Framework and Motivation] General overview of business process modeling and its benefits PC2 [BPMN] Introduction and explanation of the main notation used to model business processes PC3 [Process Context] Understanding how the context of each business process can affect its analysis PC4 [Analysis Techniques] Introduction to the main techniques for analyzing a business process PC5 [Managing Process Redesign] Clarification of the key concerns to consider during process redesign PC6 [Redesign Heuristics] Introduction to the main heuristics for redesigning business processes

    Learning Objectives: LO1. Gain an introductory overview of the importance of business process management LO2. Develop critical thinking regarding the alignment of processes with business strategy LO3. Acquire knowledge of BPMN to model business processes LO4. Understand the main techniques for analyzing business processes LO5. Learn the dimensions and heuristics for redesigning business processes

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

    The teaching and learning methodology of this course unit is active, placing the student at the center and as the main agent of the learning process. That is, there is a clear encouragement for the development of autonomous and participatory content absorption, through case analyses, promotion of digital content, and critical discussion of these materials, supported by the theoretical content delivered. Additionally, students are challenged to carry out individual and group projects, which are to be presented as a way to consolidate the knowledge acquired.
