The Dissertation/Project course unit aims to support the design, development and writing of an original scientific work, empirical or applied in nature, framed within cyberspace, human behaviour and emerging technologies. It represents the culmination of the study cycle, requiring the critical integration of methodological and technical skills to generate new knowledge or innovative solutions in digital therapy. The emphasis is on the scientific autonomy and ethical rigor needed to address contemporary challenges in mental health and behavior within the digital age.

PC1 - Research Methodologies Choice of topic and literature review; formulation of problems, objectives and hypotheses, study design and data collection methods; ethical issues and data protection (GDPR); data analysis and writing in accordance with APA 7th edition standards. PC2 - R&D Projects in Cybertherapy and Neurocognitive Rehabilitation Psychopathology in digital contexts; technological interventions; online therapeutic models; emerging trends (Artificial Intelligence and Extended Reality) PC3 - Dissertation/Project Preparation Structure and writing of the work; integration of theory and results; academic integrity and preparation for defence.

Objectives
LO1: Demonstrate advanced skills in scientific research methodologies and methods, selecting the most appropriate study designs for cyberspace phenomena. LO2: Critically analyze and synthesize cutting-edge scientific literature in the fields of cybertherapy, digital behavior, and neurocognitive rehabilitation, identifying gaps in knowledge. LO3: Design, execute, and write an original dissertation or applied project, complying with the methodological, ethical, and technical rigor standards required by the scientific community. LO4: Communicate and defend, with clarity and autonomy, the results and implications of the developed work before an academic jury, demonstrating scientific maturity.

Teaching methodologies
Tutorial-based model with seminars and individual supervision. Discussion of scientific articles and continuous monitoring of the dissertation plan. Independent research and writing. Formative feedback sessions and midterm review. Use of digital research support tools.

A unidade curricular adota a modalidade de avaliação contínua, conforme o Regulamento Geral de Avaliação da Universidade.
Requisito de Assiduidade
Para acesso à avaliação contínua, o estudante deve estar presente em mínimo de 70% das sessões tutoriais.
Componentes de Avaliação
Documento escrito (50%):
Apresentação oral dissertação/projeto perante júri em conferência internacional da área (50%)
O aluno obtém aprovação quando cumpre os três critérios listados:
* Obtém uma nota final igual ou superior a 10 pontos
* Cumpre o requisito mínimo de assiduidade
* Cumpre as normas éticas e científicas
A avaliação final tem uma ponderação final de 100% e corresponde à revisão da Dissertação/Projeto Aplicado (conforme indicações da júri) num prazo de 30 dias uteis (conforme regulamento de avaliação) e, posterior, defesa oral perante um júri.

The course adopts continuous assessment, in accordance with the University's General Assessment Regulations.
Attendance Requirement
To be eligible for continuous assessment, students must attend at least 70% of the tutorial sessions.
Assessment Components
* Written document (50%):
* Oral presentation of dissertation/project before a jury at an international conference in the field (50 %)
The student obtains approval when meet all the three criteria listed:
* Obtains a final grade equal to or higher than 10 points
* Meets the minimum attendance requirement
* Complies with ethical and scientific standards
The final assessment has a final weighting of 100% and corresponds to the review of the Dissertation/Applied Project (as indicated by the jury) within 30 working days (in accordance with the assessment regulation) and, subsequently, an oral defence before a jury.
