Presentation
In this course, students learn advanced concepts of information visualization. The focus is no longer on exploring techniques suitable for creating visualizations, but rather on designing interfaces applicable to end users. Students will learn integration and interaction techniques, develop visual narratives, and master principles of visualization interface design, including readability, complexity management, and evaluation processes. By the end of the course, students are expected to have a project ready to be published and shared with the data visualization community.

Teaching methodologies
Teaching methodologies
Now that we live in the age of AI, teaching methodologies must adapt to enable students to reach their full potential, with the course relying on pedagogical guidelines that help them connect the theoretical foundations of the course with the assistance of these tools. First, since the classes are theoretical-practical, the goal is to place less emphasis on theoretical lecture phases and more on discussions about the content, with accompanying exercises for knowledge consolidation. Second, drawing inspiration from gamification concepts in academia, the course will grant students autonomy in how they complete certain components. Finally, student assessment will focus predominantly on the design and practical development process, rather than a purely quantitative assessment centered on the final outcome.

Assessment
Assessment
