Objectives
Objectives
The intended oucomes are: Understand the link between climate change, energy resources, energy dependence, energy policies, and the legal framework for renewables in Portugal and Europe. Know the current energy mix, decarbonisation targets, and the role of renewables in the energy transition and sustainable development. Identify and analyse key renewable energy technologies, including their advantages, limitations, and basic sizing principles. Analyse emerging topics such as self-consumption, energy communities, storage, decarbonised energy systems, and the hydrogen market. Develop problem-solving, critical thinking, research, experimentation, proactive attitude, and communication skills. Promote multidisciplinary teamwork and understand the social, economic, and business challenges of the energy transition.

Teaching methodologies
Teaching methodologies
In theoretical classes, knowledge will be simultaneously transmitted either through formal exposition of the course contents or through interpolative methods, raising theoretical questions related to the course subject, with the aim of encouraging student intervention and participation. In theoretical-practical classes, students will be encouraged to solve problems on worksheets relating to the various themes covered in the theoretical classes of this course.
