    Tutorial-based curricular unit focused on guiding independent research: Consolidation of the theoretical and conceptual framework in Journalism and Media Studies. Definition and operationalization of data collection and analysis methodologies (e.g., content analysis, in-depth interviews, audience studies, social network analysis). Fieldwork and systematic empirical data collection. Data processing, interpretation, and critical discussion of findings in light of the state of the art. Final drafting, revision, and formal structuring of the scientific Dissertation in accordance with ethical and academic standards.

    Objectives

    This curricular unit represents the culmination of the research track in the Master's in Journalism and Media Studies. It aims to empower students to independently conduct original, conceptually sound, and methodologically rigorous academic research on a relevant phenomenon in the contemporary media ecosystem. Students are expected to develop advanced skills in systematic literature review, formulation of research questions and hypotheses, collection and critical analysis of empirical data, and final scientific writing according to established academic and ethical standards. The student must develop an autonomous work, making use of theoretical and conceptual tools, critical spirit, diversification of sources and search of causality for his arguments.
