Presentation
This course aims to introduce a set of research methods relevant to carrying out projects in the field of contemporary art and artistic research in an academic context. It intends to equip students with tools to identify, communicate, problematize, and develop working methods appropriate to their artistic objectives. It seeks to lead students to reflect on the practical, ethical, and philosophical implications of their work, developing a deeper awareness of the connections between context, theory, and practice. The course is organized around an artistic research project structured in three progressive phases, analysis of an object and artistic production, documentation and visual essay, through which students practice, in a practical and cumulative way, the entire methodological cycle worked on in the theoretical classes.

Objectives
Objectives
The course aims to provide master's students with specific research methodologies using and through art, fostering an understanding of the current landscape of artistic research, its definition, and the issues surrounding it at both national and international levels. The goal is to equip students with theoretical and practical knowledge that empowers them to pursue their projects with academic rigor. To this end, the course develops tools for understanding and constructing critical thinking, as well as reading, writing, and documentation skills, and fosters an understanding of their own artistic and theoretical processes so that these processes can be updated, translated, explored, and shared critically and pertinently within artistic and academic circles.

Teaching methodologies
Teaching methodologies
The practical application of this content is based on exploratory artistic research, developed from a common reference point defined annually by the professors, and organized into sequential and cumulative phases, with assignments and collective discussion sessions distributed throughout the semester. This structure forces students to repeatedly move between research, practice, and writing, concretely operationalizing the idea of translation that runs throughout the entire course.
