    S1. Literature review, using bibliographical sources of scientific information both nationally and internationally recognized; S2. Formulation of the problem and research hypotheses, well-grounded in the state of the art and based on the identification of knowledge gaps and research needs; S3. Selection of the methodologies that best fit the research question and the ethical requirements when conducting psychological research with human participants; S4. Conduct an empirical study (e.g., data collection), when applicable S5. Statistical data analysis, when applicable; S6. Interpretation of results in light of the literature review; S7. Dissemination of research results to the scientific community by writing a dissertation in scientific article format, according to APA standards, and other scientific products (e.g., communications at scientific congresses related to the scientific domain).
  • Objectives

    Objectives

    The learning objective that must be met is the development of original content by the student in a face-to-face and collaborative context with the advisor. It is intended to provide students with a structured contact with research that allows acquire and develop solid knowledge and skills in scientific research. It is intended to accompany the students in the planning and implementation of their research projects, up to the writing of the dissertation. Integrating into lines and themes of research pre-defined according to the supervisor's area of ¿¿expertise, it is intended that students develop, with tutorial follow-up, a substantial part of the work plan that supports the preparation of the dissertation: literature review; definition of objectives, research hypotheses and methodological options; realization of the empirical study and interpretation of results; and writing of the dissertation, in accordance with the requirements of a scientific work
  • Teaching methodologies

    Teaching methodologies

    The teaching methodology will be tutorial based, with weekly sessions held in small groups. Each student has room to advance the development of their work, based on supervision, as well as to share their doubts, difficulties, and suggestions with the group. It is intended that students can elaborate reflective questions related to each project and increase their knowledge on crosscutting issues related to their scientific works. Whenever possible, active methods (eg, practical exercises in data analysis) will be used to acquire advanced research knowledge and skills, that besides of being applicable to their own research work, are crosscutting and transferable to other future research projects.

    A avaliação resulta da apresentação e defesa da dissertação de mestrado de acordo com o regulamento e grelha de

    avaliação em vigor na EPCV. Para aprovação é necessária a nota mínima de 10 valores.
     
    Para se obter anuência da orientadora é necessário o desenvolvimento de tutorias e trabalho original presencial com a equipa de orientação. O trabalho desenvolvido presencialmente tem de  ser parte essencial da dissertação
