Presentation
The course develops advanced skills for designing, grounding and communicating research in Management. Its scope covers the formulation of research problems and questions; the search for and management of academic literature; bibliometric analysis; systematic reviews and the critical synthesis of knowledge; theoretical development; and the responsible use of artificial intelligence in research. It also includes the critical appraisal of dissertation proposals as part of a formative, cross-cycle activity. This activity provides a distinct application of academic assessment skills and is independent of the topic of the doctoral students' systematic literature review. Within the study cycle, the course strengthens scientific autonomy, methodological rigour and the ability to contribute to the production and discussion of knowledge in Management.

Objectives
Objectives
Define a research problem and formulate a clear, relevant and feasible research question. Develop and document a literature search strategy, manage records and apply explicit selection criteria. Conduct a systematic literature review in a group, critically synthesise the findings and report the process transparently. Interpret bibliometric maps as a means of understanding a field, without mistaking them for theoretical synthesis. Develop a theoretical contribution based on the literature analysed. Critically appraise a dissertation proposal and formulate well-grounded, ethical and useful recommendations. Use AI tools transparently, critically and responsibly, verifying sources and protecting confidential data.

Teaching methodologies
Teaching methodologies
* Expository and Interactive Classes: Introduction to the fundamental concepts of bibliometric-systematic literature review and research methodologies. * Project-Based Learning: To strengthen teamwork skills, doctoral students will develop scientific studies in groups, in which they will have to design a theoretical study together. * Practical and laboratory sessions: Application of tools such as VOSviewer, Bibliometrix and others for bibliometric analysis and visualization of knowledge networks. * Discussion and debate: Critical reflection on the challenges of literature review and theoretical development and sharing of experiences and difficulties encountered in carrying out the research project.

Assessment
Assessment
Conclusão do Módulo 4
70%
Conclusão do Módulo 4 15%
