    The Postgraduate Course in Oenology is developed in close connection with the wine industry. The curriculum offers a multidisciplinary and complementary approach in several areas, namely production, planning, quality control, commercialization, and marketing. It develops scientific skills with a high practical component through laboratory classes, internships, and visits to wineries. This will allow students to develop in-depth knowledge in problem solving and in improving and adapting to the evolution of manufacturing processes, new technologies, testing, and even the creation of wineries in the global wine sector.

    The aim is for students to acquire professional skills through specialized and up-to-date training at both a scientific and technological level, associated with different techniques in winemaking, marketing, communication, quality, management, the environment, research and development, and legislation.

    Career Opportunities

    The Postgraduate Course in Oenology prepares professionals to work in multiple areas of the wine sector, including: Professional oenological activity, subject to recognition of the qualification by the Technical Commission provided for in Law No. 59/2009; Production and process management in wineries, cooperatives, and wine companies; Specialized consulting in winemaking, viticulture, and wine quality improvement; Work in oenological laboratories, namely in the analysis and quality control of wine products.

    Observations

    Assessment Methods: Priority is given to continuous assessment, which is calculated as a weighted average of theoretical and practical knowledge in each course unit. If the student does not pass the continuous assessment, a final exam is taken, and the final grade will be that of the exam. Schedule Evening, Daytime Scheduled Hours 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
