The course provides an integrated overview of Total Quality Management and contemporary enterprise excellence frameworks, examining how organizations design, implement and sustain quality¿driven management systems. Its scope covers the principles of TQM, the structure and application of the EFQM Excellence Model, the requirements and managerial implications of ISO 9001 and ISO 9004, and the role of integrated management systems in supporting strategic alignment and continuous improvement. The course also addresses internal audit practices as mechanisms for performance assessment, learning and organizational maturity development.

Objectives
Objectives
Students will develop a solid understanding of Total Quality Management principles and organizational excellence frameworks, particularly the EFQM model and ISO 9001/ISO 9004 quality management systems. They will acquire the ability to analyse, integrate and evaluate management systems, understand the logic of integrated management approaches, and apply internal audit methodologies that support continuous improvement. In terms of competences, students will be able to diagnose organizational maturity, interpret normative requirements, propose evidence¿based improvement actions, and align excellence practices with organizational strategy and overall performance.

Teaching methodologies
The course adopts innovative, digitally supported teaching¿learning methodologies designed for an online environment, combining interactive lectures with problem¿based learning, case¿study analysis and simulation¿based activities that mirror real organizational quality challenges. Synchronous sessions promote collaborative work through breakout discussions, live polling and structured debates, while asynchronous components use short video explainers, guided readings and reflective prompts to deepen understanding. Students engage with practical tools such as audit checklists, maturity assessment grids and excellence model diagnostics, applying them in virtual group exercises that foster experiential learning and critical thinking. Continuous feedback, peer interaction and the use of digital whiteboards and collaborative platforms ensure an active, student¿centred learning experience.
