    Admission Conditions

    Candidates can apply for the Master's program in Sociomuseology at Lusófona University if they meet the following criteria: a) Holders of a bachelor's degree or equivalent legal qualification. b) Holders of a foreign academic degree obtained following a first-cycle of studies organized according to the principles of the Bologna Process by a state adhering to this process. c) Holders of a recognized foreign higher academic degree that is deemed to satisfy the objectives of a bachelor's degree by the competent statutory body. d) Individuals with an educational, scientific, or professional background recognized by the competent statutory body of CUL as demonstrating the capacity to undertake this study cycle. Selection criteria: 50% based on the grade of the previous qualification. 50% based on the curriculum assessment. Candidates without a previous qualification or without a qualification grade: 75% based on the curriculum assessment. 25% based on motivation and justification.

    To coordinate museologic and ecomuseologic institutions. To integrate and to integrate interdisciplinary teams in order to develop studies and projects in the field of techniques and methodologies that may support the innovation in the design of public policies oriented to the fields of culture and museology in particular. To use museology as support to learning processes; To develop knowledge and techniques which value the museum/school/Community relationship. Theoretical and practical preparation to research and teach in Museology, Patrimony and Cultural Policies fields. Operationalization of the objectives In the first year of the programme, we introduce a set of subjects that enable to deepen the knowledge of themes related with museology, thus encouraging the critical spirit proper of the training level and deepening the competencies acquired during the 1st cycle. In the 2nd year, functioning in tutoring regime, and with the knowledge and competencies acquired in the 1st year, the students will explore a theme within the specific scope of museology related with the existing research in the Institution, They innovatively contribute to the knowledge in the museology field, and from a personal point of view, they acquire the ability to autonomously develop research projects. Measurement of the degree of achievement The achievement of the objectives and the understanding of the acquired competencies are measured by an ongoing follow-up of students and information transmitted by the lecturers when they participate in training modules. Without eliminating some specificity that is required and adjusted to the specific needs of the themes, the final assessment is transversal to the curricular units and it adequately enables the understanding of the specific competencies of each student. It also enables the individual process based on the student¿s research interest and it ensures the entire identification and exploration of the themes addressed during the training.

    In what concerns the 2nd study cycle, the objectives of the Master Programme are based on the Dublin descriptors. In this context, it intends to create a group of researchers and capable of developing high-level museologic actions; to train specialists in Museology; to promote the development of post-graduate studies; to shape and continue the affirmative process of Museology as an applied and research area increasing the quality patterns and deepening the studies and the research. To promote the training of human resources capable to intervene in the museum practice and competent museologic research for the creation and transmission of knowledge that contribute to the patrimonial safeguard and valorisation. To deepen the legal and operational knowledge regarding the implementation of public cultural policies that values the museologic action.
