A Basket of Hope - This Christmas Be Solidary!

This year the Lusófona University - Lisbon and Porto University Center joins with CASA - Homeless Support Center to carry out an initiative dedicated to supporting people, families or children who are homeless or in conditions precarious.

This initiative, which will take place in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area - AML and in the Porto Metropolitan Area - AMP, mainly involves the donation of essential goods, which meet the following categories: Hygiene, Clothing, Entertainment and Food.

The academic community will be able to donate at the collection points that will be available throughout the Campus, duly identified, until December 15th.

How long?

• Until December 15th.

How to contribute?
Leaving your contribution in the boxes duly identified for this purpose, in the following locations:

• University Access Tunnel (Centro Universitário Lisboa)
• Entrance to the University (Centro Universitário Porto)

What goods can I donate?

• Hygiene
  (new toothbrushes, toothpaste, wipes, soap with packaging or resistant outer paper and shampoos)
• Clothes
  (socks, blankets, coats, new underwear - size M, shoes, pants, scarves, hats, gloves and sweaters)
• Entertainment
  (toys, books, pencils/pens)
• Food
  (packages of biscuits, packets of spaghetti/spiral pasta, packets of rice, packets of milk, packets of biscuits, cans of tuna, cans of beans, cans of grain, packets of cereals, olive oil, soluble barley, sugar and napkins)

Distribution

• The distribution of the baskets will be carried out by members of the Marketing and Communication Department and by University students.

With an eye on contributing to the community, and promoting social responsibility among its Students, Teachers and Staff, the campaign is not satisfied by itself, but rather with the strength of unity and willingness to cooperate, this is the spirit of a Hopeful volunteer!

It should not be just a mere virtualization, but an event.

And as such, it will be our “Basket of Hope”!
