The FAZER + Programme is a Science and Innovation Support Programme whose aim is to support and reward activities and projects that strengthen research and innovation capacity in Lusófona educational institutions.

The programme is composed of 1 competition and 3 awards:

• Research Excellence Competition;
• Award for Best Innovative Teaching Practice;
• Award for Good Practices in Research in Teaching;
• Lusófona University Scientific Publications Award.

Research Excellence Competition

Presentation

The competition aims to fund innovative projects, preferably with a strong interdisciplinary component in any field of knowledge, which may result in larger-scale projects to be subsequently submitted for national or international funding and/or patent applications or other intellectual property registrations.

Available Budget

The allocated amount is one hundred thousand euros (100,000€).

Maximum Funding per Project

The maximum amount per application for funding purposes is fifty thousand euros (50,000€).

Award for Best Innovative Teaching Practice

Presentation

The Award aims to recognise the integration of innovative practices into the curricular content of course units at any level of study, promoting transversal, active and collaborative learning based on face-to-face, distance or blended teaching/learning systems, with the aim of encouraging self-learning and inclusive education.

Maximum Award Amount per Project

The award amount per individual application is five thousand euros (5,000€).
The award amount per group application is eight thousand euros (8,000€).

Award for Good Practices in Research in Teaching

Presentation

The Award aims to recognise the best processes for integrating R&D practices into the content of course units, promoting student immersion in research and development activities.

Maximum Award Amount per Project

The award amount per application is 5,000€ (five thousand euros).
The amount may be awarded individually or to the group of winning lecturers.

Lusófona University Scientific Publications Award

Presentation

The Award aims to recognise scientific research activity and encourage publication in peer-reviewed international journals and publishers of recognised quality (Q1).

Maximum Award Amount per Project

The award amount per application is 250€ (two hundred and fifty euros).

This regulation is governed in conjunction with the COFAC Research Grants Regulation or the FCT Research Grants Regulation (Foundation for Science and Technology), for contractualisation under the Research Excellence Competition.
