Beginning of the Composting Process at Lusófona University
And replanting of the organic vegetable garden by the Eco-Schools Team of the Faculty of Engineering.
12.07.22 - 13h30During the months of April and May, the students of the council and the coordination of Eco-Escolas FE had the opportunity to carry out the replanting of new species in the small biological garden on the Campus. The plants chosen were mainly aromatic and some legumes, such as sage, lavender, thyme, green beans and tomato.
Students also participated in an awareness-raising activity on the identification and use of aromatic plants in pest control in organic farming.
Associated with this activity, the composting process was also started, with the implementation of a composter next to the vegetable garden, which aims to value the organic waste that is produced in large quantities in the canteens of the Campus and transform it into rich compost in nutrients, suitable for fertilizing the organic vegetable garden.
All together we will make Lusófona more Sustainable !
