Challenges of Social Intervention in Childhood Contexts
The Social Work Bachelor’s Degree promoted an Open Class dedicated to child and youth protection in contexts of vulnerability
Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
The care and intervention of children and young people in vulnerable contexts were the focus of reflection on April 21 at Lusófona University, during an Open Class integrated into the Curricular Unit Intervention with Children and Young People, part of the 3rd year of the Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work.
The session was centred around the theme “Caring and Intervening: Children and Young People in Contexts of Vulnerability”.
The guest speaker was Guida Mendes Bernardo, from SOS Children’s Villages, who led the discussion around “The Unfinished Task of Caring for Children in Contexts of Vulnerability”. Her contribution helped connect the academic content explored in class with real-world intervention practices, bringing to the discussion the challenges associated with supporting children and young people in situations of greater vulnerability.
