On 8 and 9 April, Engineering Week 26 took place at Lusófona University - Porto University Centre, bringing together a set of activities aimed at students of the Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. The initiative was organised by the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Engineering and Technologies (FCNET), with the main objective of bringing students closer to professional reality and the different areas of civil engineering.

Over the two days, students were given the opportunity to engage with the professional context, share experiences and take part in laboratory practice.

The programme included a technical visit to a Metro do Porto construction site, sessions with specialists from different fields and testimonials from graduates, allowing participants to gain insight into real-life civil engineering contexts. These experiences contribute to a better understanding of career opportunities and may influence future choices, particularly in terms of specialisations, as well as improving integration into the job market.

Engineering Week 26 thus strengthened the link between education and professional practice, providing two days of applied learning and experience-sharing in the field of civil engineering.
