Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
On 27 May, Lusófona University - Porto University Centre hosted the fourth edition of the Creative Ideas Summit, an initiative organised as part of the Applied Communication Bachelor's Degree, bringing together students, lecturers and communication professionals.
The main aim of the event was to provide students with opportunities for complementary training, contact with practising professionals and insight into different areas of activity within the communications sector.
During the morning, two workshops were led by communication professionals. The Event Management workshop was delivered by Daniel Agra from the Atrevia agency, while the Creative Communication workshop was led by André Leite Coelho from the Rising agency.
The sessions enabled participants to deepen their practical knowledge and gain a better understanding of the challenges and dynamics of work carried out within communication agencies and consultancies.
According to the programme director, Ana Filipa Oliveira, the Creative Ideas Summit has increasingly established itself as a valuable learning opportunity that complements students’ academic journey.
The lecturer explained that the initiative was redesigned during the previous academic year, placing greater emphasis on a training-focused approach through workshops led by industry professionals, while maintaining its connection to the projects developed by students throughout the year.
In the afternoon, students presented the work carried out as part of the InfoClima project, an initiative promoted in partnership with the ZERO Association. The project involved first-year students from the degree programme, who showcased the outcomes of their work and had the opportunity to receive feedback and suggestions on the projects they had developed.
The day concluded with a visit to the Teatro Nacional São João, providing students with direct exposure to communication practices within a cultural context and the opportunity to explore new professional pathways in communication, particularly within organisations linked to culture and the arts.
Through this initiative, the Applied Communication Bachelor's Degree seeks to strengthen the connection between the institution, the labour market and society, creating learning opportunities that complement students’ education and contribute to a better understanding of the diverse professional realities within the field of communication.
