CYTED Forum brought together experts on food systems
An international event in Lisbon promoted debate on sustainability, innovation and food security with Ibero-American experts

The CYTED-IBERO S3A REDEAL Forum took place between 29 March and 1 April 2026, at Lusófona University - Lisbon University Centre, bringing together researchers, public decision-makers, academic institutions and companies from the Ibero-American region.
Over three days, the event stood out as a platform for dialogue on sustainability, food security and food safety, framed within public policies, the One Health approach, the Green Deal and the Sustainable Development Goals.
The programme included high-level scientific sessions, a keynote session dedicated to the future of food, round tables with industry representatives, workshops focused on knowledge transfer and innovation, as well as networking moments that fostered new partnerships between science, industry and society. The event concluded with a technical and cultural visit to Santarém, reinforcing the link between scientific knowledge, territory and local agri-food chains.
The initiative established itself as a strategic space to strengthen Ibero-American scientific cooperation and to promote sustainable solutions for the future of food.
