ENEGI 2025 highlighted Industry 5.0 and the new challenges of engineering

The 12th edition of the National Meeting on Industrial Engineering and Management (ENEGI) took place on 18 and 19 September at Lusófona University – Lisbon University Centre. Under the theme “The Challenges of Industry 5.0 for Industrial Engineering and Management”, the event brought together students, lecturers, researchers, and professionals from across the country to discuss the transformations shaping the future of the field.
Over two days, specialists, researchers, and students of Industrial Engineering and Management discussed new developments and trends and presented the results of their research, reinforcing the importance of the connection between science, innovation, and business practice.
The programme included conferences, round tables, and presentations by students and professionals, addressing topics such as artificial intelligence, innovation, sustainability, and entrepreneurship. Among the represented organisations were companies such as IBM, Worten, Leroy Merlin, and MC Sonae, which shared experiences and strategies related to Industry 5.0.
The organising committee, composed of Professors Raphaela Vidal, Miguel Vieira, Pedro Matias, and Ricardo Mateus, created a unique and welcoming atmosphere, with the fundamental support of volunteer students who contributed to the success of the event.
Organised in partnership with ProfitAbility Engineers, Lusófona University and RCM2+ – Research Centre in Asset Management and Systems Engineering, ENEGI 2025 stood out for the diversity of contributions and the strong connection between academia and the business sector, emphasising the preparation for the challenges of the new industrial era.
