Faculty of Physical Education and Sport (FEFD) Begins Mentor Induction

The Faculty of Physical Education and Sport (FEFD), at Lusófona University, held the first meeting to introduce the candidates for mentors of the FEFD Mentoring Programme, marking the beginning of the induction and training phase for the new team for the 2026/27 academic year.

The session was led by the FEFD Coordinator for Innovation and Pedagogical Integration, António Lopes, and the Co-Coordinator, Sónia Vladimira.

The meeting included a welcome for the candidates who had reached this stage, an update on the recruitment and training process, as well as the definition of communication guidelines between mentors, mentees, tutors and coordinators.

During the session, the planned training programme was also presented, and a group activity was held, giving the candidates their first opportunity to get to know one another and begin to develop a team spirit, preparing them for the performance of their future roles.

The FEFD Mentoring Programme is part of the institution's strategy to promote academic success and pedagogical innovation, through close support for new students from more experienced peers. The initiative aims to contribute to a more informed, autonomous and confident integration into university life.

Over the coming months, the programme coordination team will continue with the training of the selected mentors, preparing for the start of mentoring activities as the new academic cycle gets underway.
