Fernando Lopes Cinema Room - Lusófona University

The Fernando Lopes Cinema Room is located on the Academic Campus of the Lusófona University (Campo Grande). The room is a show venue exclusively dedicated to film screenings and for eminently academic use in the context of the different study cycles and activities of the Department of Cinema and Media Arts (DCAM) of Universidade Lusófona.

Aware of the need to promote interaction and synergies between academia and society, the Department established a cooperation protocol with Leopardo Filmes that provides for the occasional use of the room in dedicated events (for example, festivals or retrospectives) open to the public in general, as well as the regular programming of thematic sessions aimed at an academic audience but also cinephiles.

With the creation of this dedicated room equipped with the most modern DCP technology for digital cinema projection and 7.1 technology for audio, our institution takes another significant step towards consolidating its educational offer in the areas of cinema and media arts, asserting itself as a reference institution in this field in Portugal and in the European Area.
