Human Factors in Error Prevention in Aviation Contexts

Lusófona University held, on 9 December, an open lecture dedicated to the topic “Human Error Through the Eyes of a Pilot”, with the participation of Commander Armindo Martins, an airline pilot with over 30 years of experience. An airline pilot is a certified professional responsible for the operation of scheduled commercial flights for the transport of passengers and/or cargo, complying with rigorous safety and operational procedures.

The session focused on the importance of human factors in error prevention, from the operational perspective of commercial aviation. The initiative took place at the Agostinho da Silva Auditorium and included a question-and-answer session, encouraging reflection on decision-making, operational safety and error management.

The session was moderated by lecturer António Pimenta de Brito, from Lusófona University. The open lecture was aimed at students in the fields of Aeronautical Management and Human Resources Management, as well as other interested participants.
