"Crimes with History" is the name of a new weekly column published in Revista Domingo (the Sunday supplement of the newspaper Correio da Manhã), running between 7 June and 13 September 2026.
The project spans 15 weeks and consists of a series of dossiers focused on the detailed analysis of some of the most notable and dangerous crimes and criminals in the history of global criminology.
Authored by Professor Paulo Sargento (lecturer at Lusófona University Faculty of Law, Associate Researcher at CEAD Francisco Suárez and Director of the Higher Professional Technical Course in Forensic and Criminal Laboratory, at the Ribeiro Sanches School of Health Sciences (ERISA) of IPLUSO), Dr Carlos Anjos (former Chief Inspector of the Judiciary Police, lecturer in the aforementioned Higher Professional Technical Course and visiting lecturer in the Postgraduate Programme in Criminology and Criminal Investigation), and Master Manuel Maria Rodrigues (former Chief Inspector of the Judiciary Police and former President of ASFIG).
The columns cover well-known cases, focusing on detailed analysis of serial killers, mass murderers, rapists and paedophiles.
Through a multidisciplinary perspective, each dossier combines the analysis of real events with the circumstances of the original criminal investigations, as well as outlining the psychological profile and motivation of the offender.
The first edition of the column was dedicated to Ted Bundy, the infamous American serial killer, referred to by the authors in this column as "The Killer Adonis" due to his profile.
