The Mentoring Programme for the Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at Lusófona University began the new academic year with the preparation of the team of mentors and the welcome of new students.

The session was led by Professor Paula Paulino, Coordinator of the Mentoring and Pedagogical Innovation Programme at the EPCV – School of Psychology and Life Sciences, and Dr Mariana Claro, Mentors’ Coordinator.

The preparation of the mentoring team included a presentation of the project’s objectives and how it operates, as well as training sessions and group activities aimed at developing essential mentoring skills and fostering team spirit.

With the start of classes, the 15 mentors began supporting 155 mentees, organising welcome and integration activities. These included an introduction to the degree programme and the Mentoring Programme, a guided tour of the Lusófona University campus and the sharing of academic experiences.

The initiative aims to welcome, guide and support new students as they navigate their doubts, questions and challenges, helping them integrate into academic life in a more supportive, independent and confident way, while fostering a sense of belonging to the university community.

Throughout the academic year, the mentors will continue to support their mentees, promoting a more participatory, integrated and supportive academic experience.
