Research on populist emotions to be presented in Boston

Lecturer Susana Rogeiro Nina, from Lusófona University, has had a scientific paper accepted for presentation at the annual conference of the American Political Science Association (APSA), widely regarded as the most important international gathering in the field of Political Science.

The work, co-authored with researcher José Santana Pereira, will be presented in Boston in September, bringing together leading academics from around the world.

Entitled “I Like His Ideas But Can’t Him: How Populist Emotions Shape Populist Voting”, the paper analyses the role of populist emotions in shaping political attitudes and voting behaviour, contributing to one of the central debates in contemporary scholarship on populism.

The acceptance of this paper in a highly competitive context highlights the quality and international relevance of the research produced at Lusófona University, reinforcing its presence in leading academic networks.
