18.05.24 - 10h56
For the second year running, students from Lusófona University's Faculty of Engineering and Eco-Schools Council took part in a technical trip to the historic Lousal Mine, under the guidance of Professor Anabela Cruces. This visit, which has already become a tradition for the course, allowed the students to explore the old mining facilities and visit the Living Science Centre, which is located on the same site.
During the activity, the students were able to deepen their knowledge of the importance of water quality and the challenges of rehabilitating decommissioned mining areas. They also took water and soil samples, which will be analysed later in the Ecotoxicology and Water Quality classes.
The topics covered on this technical outing included managing water consumption and analysing sediment quality, providing the students with valuable practical experience.
