Other Delli Week 18: Design, Care, and Invisible Communities
Workshop that encouraged students to explore invisible communities and rethink design as a practice of care and attentive awareness

Lusófona University – Lisbon University Centre promotes, from 3 to 7 November 2025, Other Delli Week 18: Around the base. This is an in-person workshop aimed at students of the Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Design at ECATI. The initiative invites reflection on the role of design as a critical and sensitive practice.
In this edition, the theme of invisible communities challenges participants to observe more attentively that which usually goes unnoticed, questioning the mechanisms that determine what is seen and what is concealed. The proposal encourages rethinking design as a means of revealing presences, gestures, and relationships that are rarely acknowledged.
More than making the invisible visible, the workshop proposes understanding how design can be a practice of care and attention, capable of recognising and valuing what exists, without dominating or reducing it.
