Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
On 7 April, the Agostinho da Silva Auditorium at Lusófona University - Lisbon University Centre hosted another edition of the Psychology Conference Days, organised by the School of Life Sciences and Psychology (ECPV).
The main goal of the initiative was to strengthen the links between academic research and professional practice, bringing together employers, researchers, students and alumni from the Master's programmes in Psychology, who shared their experiences, challenges and perspectives.
The programme included presentations and thematic panels on innovative areas such as Neuropsychology, Cybertherapy and Sexology, with special emphasis on the launch of the new Transdisciplinary Course in Sexology. Topics covered included sensitive and contemporary issues such as sexual violence in the LGBTQIA+ community, the phenomenon of Chemsex (substance use associated with sexuality), and the role of activism in sexology, as well as the project Sexology Without Borders, which aims to establish a European Master's degree in this field.
The Conference Days offered a multidisciplinary and critical perspective on the application of Psychology in clinical, social and cultural contexts, highlighting the importance of promoting integrated and ethical responses to today's societal needs.
More than just an academic conference, the event became a space for reflection, learning and intergenerational connection, highlighting the role of Psychology as a fundamental science for collective well-being and the construction of a more inclusive and informed society.
