Lusófona University was represented at the 1st Edition of the ‘Mental Health’ Conference, organised by the NGO ‘Maria Crescente’, which took place in Lisbon on 11 April 2026. Paulo Sargento, a lecturer at the Faculty of Law (FD) at Lusófona University, participated as a guest speaker with a presentation entitled “On Criminal Psychopathology and Psychosociology: Discourses and Pathways; Myths and Facts”.

Chaired by Prof. Edite Oliveira, PhD, of NOVA SBE, the “Maria Crescente” – Association is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) that aims to promote and enhance women’s human skills, contributing to the personal development and emotional empowerment of women, both within and outside Portugal.

Several proposals emerged from the conference that will be realised in cooperation projects between the NGO and Lusófona University, in areas such as dating violence, workplace violence and violence against older people.
