It was at Casa da Arquitetura, in Matosinhos, that the new building, Polo 4, of Lusófona University – Porto University Centre, was officially presented and exhibited. The conference on the 28th featured the presence of the Architect Eduardo Souto Moura, author of the project, who presented in detail the location and layout of Polo 4 of ULusófona – Porto University Centre. With a privileged view over the river Douro, the building was designed to meet contemporary demands of higher education, integrating administrative areas, leisure spaces, a library, auditoriums, and also parking facilities.
The conference also included an intervention by the Architect Nuno Sampaio, Executive Director of Casa da Arquitetura, who highlighted the project’s impact on the appreciation of Portuguese architecture. Natália Pereira, representing the Administration of ULusófona, reinforced that the new building will increase teaching capacity and strengthen the institution’s mission, thus promoting the development of higher education with quality and innovation.
